One of my favorite genres is historical fiction. You get to read about history but in a nonboring, entertaining way. The stories of a life, a family or a marriage are a little like historical fiction. You might say that it’s nonfiction but I’d argue that it depends on who is telling the story. Our own individual differences, perceptions, and even moods will alter the way we tell a story versus another’s telling.
Being married gives you a book of stories: how you met, your triumphs and defeats, your funny moments, and your secrets. The history of your marriage is a gift you share with your spouse and you get to share bits of ot with others, but never all.
