I can be as petty as the next girl but I don’t like it. Being married is a long-term thing. There is plenty of time to exercise pettiness. But why would you want to? Marriage is the ultimate jurisdiction to overlook the petty, and not sweat the small stuff. I learned that this weekend. Why bug your spouse about little things. The clothes that get left on the floor. OK – if it kills you, mention it. Nicely. But if it doesn’t, is it really worth ruining your weekend? These little things good and bad can buildup or tear down a marriage. If you want to keep your marriage strong, try to be a big person and leave the petty things alone.
